How to Stay Safe and Sane: Please Reach Out (continued)

June 30, 2020 5 Minute Read

Holy smokes! The first half of the year is over, and the 4th of July is this weekend. I kept the title of July’s article the same because I genuinely wonder what you are doing to keep yourself healthy, fit, and sane. We’ve been through lots of cycles this year, and I think we may be in for a few more. We have spoken with many of you about investments, cash flow, and other concerns during the last quarter. We seem to have reached a point of carrying on, and yet there is still a lot of uncertainty, unrest, and unknowns. There are, however, some upsides. Many of us are not commuting to work every day or least, not as often, freeing up time for things that we may have put off or avoided. Many are spending less money and questioning the things we are buying. We are spending money more consciously. I know I am.

Do we need two cars if we are both working from home? We may be spending less on some items like eating out and shopping for clothes and buying our morning coffee. Anything we can do to spend more consciously, I think, is a good thing. It’s not just about spending less. Maybe we spend a bit more on some household items as we are spending more time there. Perhaps now that we are not commuting, we have a bit more time for working out, eating healthy, or meditating. Maybe we take on that project we have had on the back burner for months or even years, writing that book, learning a language, or talking more with our friends and family.

I am just as lost as many of you as I write this newsletter. The topics don’t seem to be flowing this month. I’d love to hear from you if you have any ideas about staying safe and sane. I’ll feature them here. If there is a great book you’ve read or a show or movie you found inspirational, pass it along, and we’ll share it in the next news. Write to me here with your suggestions.

Please know that we are here for you. I have extended my hours and I’m willing to schedule a phone call, Zoom, Skype, or Google Hangouts. Please don’t hesitate to call me if I can help. My cell phone is 949-439-9075, and my hours of availability are 7 am to 7 pm Monday through Friday.

Since you might have a bit more time and you may want to learn a bit about the markets and investing, here are two great resources by investing legends.  They are straightforward, honest, and easy to follow.  If you have a chance to watch either we’d love to hear your feedback.
