Why Is April the Cruelest Month? And What Does that Say About May?

Why do I bring this up?  Because it reminds me of you.  You are clients, work partners, friends, and neighbors.  As I think back on April this is the best quote, I can think of for how I feel about you. I wanted to roll out “April is the Cruelest Month” but that just seemed depressing and not worthy of how I really feel. This has been one of the hardest months I have had professionally and personally and yet one of the most rewarding.  Here are just a few things that happened. My mom had a health scare, one of my oldest and closest friends was in a horrific auto accident and is still in the hospital and his life and his family’s life is changed forever.  I, then, found out that another client and long-time friend was also in an auto accident right about the same time.  So, I am really starting to wonder about April.  On a brighter note, my brother was with us for few days while attending a conference in Long Beach, I traveled to New Mexico with a client to look at some property that will be their legacy and generate income and opportunity for their children, grandchildren and beyond.  And I was fortunate enough to spend the weekend with a future CEO of a major US company who will change that industry forever and possibly set a precedent for other industries to do the same.  The month closes with our one-year wedding anniversary.  I feel fortunate to have found someone who is my love, my inspiration, and my friend.

Every one of the people I briefly described above represents that quote for me.  They are business owners and entrepreneurs, leaders of their industry and those who have overcome adversity to do something really great.  I know how great they are.  I see it every day.  I am humbled by all of these experiences and the challenges they have brought me, and I don’t know what May will bring; I expect that it will challenge and surprise me.  I look forward to the challenge and for the opportunity to be a part of the daring and greatness that you are.
